"The Last Fisherman"

Randy England, author of "The Last Fisherman," is currently a prosecuting attorney in the State of Missouri. After reading his recent novel, I have good news for him. He can quit his day job. Without a doubt, this ranks as one of the most exciting novels I have ever read.

A Book Review

By Matthew Tsakanikas

I am not sure it is really fair to call it a fictional novel. The way he blended current events with believable characters was enough to make me-or anyone-wonder if, in fact, "the final war between darkness and light" will be decided within the next several years.

Pope John Paul even recently commented about the reasonableness of wondering such things.

England's novel portrays the final showdown between the antichrist and the last Bishop of Rome.

They both, interestingly enough, come from the United States. The added twist of anti-abortion activists murdering doctors at a convention and triggering the antichrist's rise to power is a reminder that the end never justifies the means; to murder to stop murders is always wrong. Not only does England make it believable, he makes it electrifying. If any Hollywood producers are smart, they'll try to get rights to turn this book into a movie.

Here's a promise: Anyone who reads the first twenty-five pages will be incapable of wanting to do anything else but finish the book... and the ending is well worth it.

I was drawn into feeling anxiety for the people involved in the events. I wanted to cry for the people who died heroes. That's what shocked me. Books don't affect me like that, but this one did. Usually, it takes a great movie to make me feel that way.

The Last Fisherman

Brenden Shea is a Priest that has been chosen by God to be the Pope that will lead his Church through the Prophecy of the Book of Revelation.

The first part of the book introduces you to the characters that lead you down the path of Abortion. The attitudes that they convey have a chilling and frightfully realistic ring to them. I found myself more than once saying "NO" to a characters’ turmoil and praying that no more lives be at risk. The last part of the book connects everyone in a way that has you weeping and praying right along with the characters.

I found the book informative of my Faith and chilling to my Soul. Mr. England ‘s understanding of the confusion and frustration felt by so many on the abortion issue arose a consciousness in me and I am grateful for that glance. At times I found myself with goose bumps at the descriptions of the prophecy and the means our Lord has to secure His Will.

I hope that someday Mr. England can let us know in further detail what transpired during the 3 years of Pope Sheas’ exile to Israel.

Recommendation:
I would recommend this book to any adult and with parental guidance to any teenager.

Comments from readers of The Last Fisherman:
 . . . Awesome. I got chills.        Maureen
I've got to complain strongly --- I ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting, thereby negatively impacting my sleep schedule.... Why did you write such an easily read, compelling book!! Have you no sympathy with us poor readers?  Some of us actually have a life we're supposed to be leading not spending the whole day reading!! Seriously, though.  I completely enjoyed the book.  My wife has it now . . .     Tom
